Hey guys!

Today we’re gonna talk about the cool and deep music video Carmen by Stromae. This song is all about social media, it’s all about how people get this rush of feeling loved and important from likes and followers, but the catch is, it’s only temporary. That happy, validated feeling? It doesn’t last unless you’re constantly online, scrolling and posting, while real life just kinda slips away.

The music video Carmen is based on a famous opera by the same name, composed by French musician Georges Bizet. In the opera, Carmen shows a woman who craves love but ends up causing obsession and jealousy. In the music video, the Twitter bird plays the role of Carmen, which is so clever!

The director of this music video, Sylvain Chomet, is actually the same guy who was asked by the creators of The Simpsons to make one of their famous “couch gag” scenes. His animation showed up at the start of the Simpsons episode called “Diggs” back in 2014. How cool is that?

At Popcornet, we rate videos using a three-tier system based on content, production quality, and visuals. A is for the best, B is for mid-range, and C is for lower scores. But don’t worry—every video we recommend is worth watching!
